Abstract
Endoscopic evaluation is integral to the management of laryngeal cancer, as it provides essential insights for both preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance. This review discusses endoscopic techniques currently used to evaluate laryngeal cancer, their efficacy, and the resulting impact on surgical and patient outcomes. It highlights the benefits of flexible and rigid laryngoscopy in preoperative assessment and the use of advanced imaging modalities such as narrow-band imaging and high-definition video endoscopy during surgery. The review also explores the applications of laser technology and photobiomodulation (PBM) in enhancing endoscopic evaluation and treatment of laryngeal cancer. Despite significant advancements, limitations persist, particularly in the accuracy of margin detection and the differentiation of malignant lesions from benign ones. This review also emphasizes the potential of integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence with laser-assisted techniques and PBM, to overcome the challenges and improve patient care.
